Mortgages for First Time Buyers

We’re here to provide an individual service to first time buyers

How we can help first time buyers

As a first time buyer it can be both a daunting and overwhelming experience purchasing your first property but also hugely exciting. At Chapelgate Private Finance we pride ourselves on being open, friendly and approachable so as to ensure that you feel relaxed in all your dealings with us.

We will remove the hassle and worry of searching for the right mortgage, finding the right mortgage is not simply about the rate charged, so we’ll take time to fully understand your circumstances and plans for the future before we research the options available. We will explain your mortgage in a straightforward and easy to understand manner and we’ll be there to guide you and support you through the process leaving you with plenty of time to think about the nicer things, like deciding what colour you’re going to paint the lounge!

As a first time buyer, what do you need to know?

What deposit do I need?

Typically speaking you will need a minimum deposit of 5% but it is worth bearing in mind that the greater deposit you have available the lower interest rate you will pay.

How much can I borrow?

This can vary significantly from lender to lender, once we understand what level of deposit you have, your income and liabilities we’ll be able to let you know what you can borrow.

How do I find the right mortgage?

Our expert advisers will spend time with you either face to face, telephone or another preferred method fully understanding your circumstances and plans for the future. We will take our time to fully research and then explain the options available.

What else do I need to know?

If you’re uncertain, we will explain the whole property buying process to you, dealing with estate agents, arranging *solicitors, surveys, exchanging contracts and completion. In addition we will emphasise the importance of protecting your mortgage, for example, if you’re diagnosed with a major illness or are off sick long term.
