From the very first inquiry to the completion of my purchase Colin was there to offer advice, support and made things very simple for me to understand. I had never bought a house and was very nervous about the procedure, felt very out of my depth, Colin reassured me throughout the process.
Colin spent so much time, morning noon & night if necessary, running the numbers and explaining our options as things changed for us during the process. He is very knowledgeable and obviously very experienced – I had spoken to a couple of other mortgage brokers (linked to estate agents) who had half the understanding Colin did. Clear and concise with explanations, and always happy to help, and he’s a really nice guy to boot.

My partner and I were buying our first home and Gavin was recommended to us by one of the estate agents looking after us. As first time buyers, we were completely clueless about the mortgage application process and the different types of mortgages, but Gavin explained all the options available to us and helped us to find a good deal. His relationship with the mortgage provider also helped to ensure that our application was processed in time for completion. I think using Gavin saved us a huge amount of time, especially as he was readily available to liaise directly with our solicitor and seller’s estate agent when needed throughout the process
We were investigating various options with regard to the purchase of a new home, i.e. keeping our old home and renting it out on a buy to let mortgage or selling it and getting a new mortgage on a new property, whilst also maintaining a mortgage on a third property. He provided detailed information about the best mortgage deals available in the market for the various options we were investigating, allowing us to make the right decision. Gavin also dealt with the mortgage provider throughout the process, relieving us from a lot of the paperwork and other work associated with obtaining mortgages, making this side of the process significantly easier for us.
Chapelgate Private Finance was excellent – in every respect – right from the outset. They provided clear unambiguous information on a range of products and options. They kept me abreast of developments and was patient in dealing with some of – somewhat pedantic- questions. What they said they’d do they did, on time or ahead of time. They was at pains to qualify understand my requirements, and most importantly applied that most critical of ratios… one mouth, two ears, use proportionately!
